Due to low enrollment, Pima Community College is dropping three of its certificate programs, which include two optics courses. Pima had only 13 graduates from the three certificate programs in the last five years. Despite the lack of enrollment, Robert Breault, president of Breault Research Organization and a member of the board of directors for the Arizona Optics Industry Association, said the optics industry in Arizona has remained level through the recession.
